Synopsis:

Review:
I'm afraid I'm going to have to give the ending away again, the reason being, it sucked. You see, in the end it turns out to be a new element, which theoretically shouldn't exist, but there's this new alien sub-atomic particle which makes it stay stable... Now, my physics knowledge begins and ends at GCSE level, so I probably shouldn't be bitching about this, but ARRGGGGHHHHHH! Why does it always have to be new elements? Why? It's completely bloody ludicrous. Why not a new alloy? Same potential, same impact on the storyline, but it's remotely feasible, unlike the bloody new elements.

I'm sorry to go on about that, but the same thing crops up time and time again, often perpetrated by people who should really know better, and it pisses me off...

Anyway, besides that, the story itself was okay. It concerned itself only with the humans (mainly Ivanova and Garibaldi). I think one alien got a couple of lines at one point, but that was about it for the myriad other races scattered across the B5 universe... The characteres were dealt with reasonably well, although Ivanova was a bit too girly and Garibaldi a bit too protective. In that regard, one scene in particular stood out as being... well, pants, really. Ivanova is all depressed about the evil Earthforce guys picking on her, so she (shock, horror) puts on a dress and goes and hangs around with men in a bar. To which, Garibaldi reacts with horror, then tells her date that if he tries to 'take advantage' of her, he'll smack his face in. Now, Ivanova's always struck me as the sort who likes a huge greasy dock worker of an evening, but everyone has their own perception of the characters, I suppose...

The plot had a feel of write-by-numbers about it. The big bad guys were big and bad and truly evil, then the good, honourable, noble, downtrodden masses arose and squished them. The End. Still, it killed a few hours...
