Synopsis:
Taken off the front cover, as it's absolutely perfect, and much more succinct than anything I could some up with: 'A novel of cats and murder.'
Review:
If you like cats and murder mysteries, you'll like this book, as it's a murder mystery with cats. It took me a while to figure out which characters are cats and which are humans, but not everyone's as thick as me and once you get the hang of it, it's quite straightforward. Except for the plot, that's a bit twisty...
It needs a bit of disbelief suspension, for example, cats (at least the more intelligent among them) can use computers, they just encrypt all their files so the humans don't realise, cats can understand human speech, and even approximate it if they really have to, some cats actually feel affection for humans...
Don't get me wrong, I love cats. I just don't think cats particularly love humans, that's all.
Anyhoo, it's quite good, if quite weird, the ending's unexpected and quite freaky, but you probably shouldn't bother if you're not a cat person.
