Synopsis:
Prince Rillian (Caspian's brat) has been kidnapped by an evil witch, so Aslan sends Eustace from Voyage of the Dawn Treader and his friend Jill to rescue him.
Review:
You've got to feel sorry for Ramandu's daughter. Her father's a star, she's in two of the books, she's the major motivation for most of Rillian's early actions, she was Queen of Narnia for however many years it was, and she still doesn't have a name...
I really like this book. It's quite often my favourite of the Narnia books. There's a good dark undertone to it, especially the way that Jill keeps arseing up the signs. The Underworld is soooo pretty, and the Under-under world even more so. The Northern wastes have giants and marshwiggles and snow and many other things of exteme grooviness.
Speaking of which, Puddleglum rules more than many things that have ruled before. Sweet little Marshwiggle... And Narnian pessimists are always refreshing.
The whole bit of Rillian and the chair... Well, I remember it scaring the crap out of me when I was wickle, which is probably why I loved the book so much. :) It is actually a bit psychological and stuff...
Anyway, conclusion; good book.
