Synopsis:
Aliens might be coming to eat the Earth. Or the main character could just be going nuts.
Review:
I thought at first that this was going to be a pile of shite, but it redeemed itself quite nicely. The style of writing, although initially appalling (well, not appalling, but it's one of those books that you (well, okay, me) long to rewrite a couple more times to make it readable...) either improved, or the plot drew me in enough to stop me noticing.
The main characters weren't particularly interesting. The main bloke was obessed with Don Quixote - which I've never read and, after getting through this book, have no intention of reading. The main woman is his nurse who ends up falling in love with him which is a) not very professional and b) some kind of psychological illness as I understand it... Anyway, she was annoying, although she did constantly have a go at the genius scientist guy, which was nice.
The aliens (there were two lots - one being big and mean, the other being little and not quite so mean) were quite groovy, in an evil alien kinda way.
There's not really much more to say about this... I should really stop reading so many average books and find some I can really rant about... Maybe I'm too forgiving...
Oh, and as a brief afterthought, the recommended price on the back is 25p, but I bought it (second hand and battered) for 39p. Which says something fiscal no doubt.
And another thing... It's got a really pretty cover. Well, not pretty as such, quite gorey actually, but it's done in an arty way so you don't notice until you really look at it.
or...
