The Stand.

Synopsis:
A super flu virus is released which wipes out most of the world's population. The survivors have to band together in order to survive.

Guided by dreams, some go to the west, to a dark man who walks the night time roads. The others go east to a kind old lady.

What follows is a battle between the forces of good and evil, with the survivors caught in the middle.

Review:
O.K. the first thing to say is, I love this book. It does, however, have some bad points. There are some scenes where it just goes on for too long. King (although he is an amazing writer) does like the sound of his own pen, and doesn't seem to know when to stop a scene. The other bad point is the end. I thought it was a little rushed.

Apart from this, the book is amazing. The way King describes the characters is so clear you begin to feel like you know them.
