Demons 2

Synopsis:
Several years after the events that took place in the first film, we now find ourselves in a swanky high rise apartment block, where throughout the building the inhabitants go about their lives; dinner, a book before bed, soliciting a prostitute. But our attention is drawn to the upper floors where a young girl named Sally is having a her 16th birthday party (Despite that fact, she looks about 25). Unfortuantely, things go wrong and she locks herself in the room and watches the T.V. whilst sulking. As she watches, the programme turns onto a "Documentary" about a group of teenagers outside a large wall. A helpful voiceover tells about how, years before, the Demons came and attempted to take over the world. Apparantly they were beaten and the area in which thay attacked was sealed off. So, on finding a big wall with a sign saying "beware the nasty killer demons" the kids go over the top.

Thinking this is better than pin the tail on the donkey, Sally sits enraptured in the events that unfold. One of the teenagers on the "documentry", cuts her hand and inadvertantly resurrects a demon. The Demon (who's a bit cranky) slaughters the "actors" and then appears to spot the camera crew. Unfortunately for the birthday girl, it walks straight at the screen and comes through into the room.

In the other room the cake is brought out, and the guests call for Sally to come out and chow down. Sally emerges, but you guessed it, she's now a nasty killer demon and quickly lays waste to all her party guests (this is what happens when you DON'T buy a girl the Malibu Barbie set she asked for). As the guests start to transform into even more nasty demons, Sally starts to excrete a nasty black liquid which burns through the floor, turning anyone and anything that comes in contact with it into a demon (Clearasil is always an option). So once again the survivors must band together and fight for the lives. Bloody noisy neighbours...

Review:
Ok, same director, same-ish plot, most of the same actors from the first one... so what can I say.

Well, this one is a bit scarier than the first one. This is down to the scenes where the Demons attack the survivors. The bastards are organised. They start at the top of the building, killing any survivors they find, then they attack the basement where the main group is, then they just keep repeating it.

One thing is that the acting has got worse, but somehow it works for the scenario... ok it's not an epic, but who cares.

As I mentioned before, the Demons, which are the creatures that possess the humans, have now become muppets and have comedy sound affects attached to them, and the fact that they're soooooo cute doesn't reeeeeaaalllly help up the scaryness rating.

On the whole, a rather fun film.
