Synopsis:
Well, it's a Man from UNCLE movie, so... Thrush are trying to take over the world, and Napoleon and Illya have to stop them. The main bad guy has a leather hat (That has nothing to do with the plot, it's just worth mentioning).
Review:
This is going to be another highly biased review. Sorry.
It's a bloody good movie, both for fans and non-fans. The plot's interesting, the scenery's pretty, the secret agents are prettier, and there's some girls without many clothes on if you like that sort of thing. The list of guest stars is also very impressive (not that I can remember them. There's always IMDb if you really have to know...), but then, MfU was always strangely good at getting big names.
For the non-fans, if you like Bond movies and/or Austin Powers (more Austin Powers than Bond, to be quite honest) then you'll probably quite like this. The daughters are annoying, but not overly so for sixties women (I think I liked Imogen best, even if she was a filthy little slapper and got off with Terry-Thomas), and their mother was damn scary (It's a man baby!).
For the fans, it's all done in the usual MfU Bond-on-a-budget style of cheapness, but (in my opinion) is all the more adorable for that. David McCallum gets to demonstrate his freakish drainpipe-climbing abilities, Robert Vaughn gets to wear the ugliest hat I've ever seen in my life (in the bit where they're in the Alps (or whatever mountain range it was actually supposed to be. I dunno)), and they both get to look gorgeous at great length.
Conclusion: good. Duh...
